Sarah Ferguson Arrives at the Royal Wedding — After Getting Snubbed for William and Kate's

She didn't get an invite to Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding, but Sarah Ferguson arrived Saturday morning for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal wedding.

Ferguson, better known as Fergie, arrived just after 11 a.m. U.K. time to Windsor Castle sporting a classic navy fascinator and matching navy skirt suit with pale pink details. Fergie is the aunt to both William and Harry, as she was married to their uncle, Prince Andrew.

Fergie and Andrew wed in 1986 and had two daughters, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, who are at Meghan and Harry's wedding, as well. Eugenie and Beatrice made a splash at Will and Kate's wedding with their bold hats, but both wore more understated ensembles Saturday morning.

Fergie and Andrew divorced in 1996, and, before and after the split, Fergie was embroiled in a number of high-profile scandals. In 1992, before the divorce was finalized, she was photographed with her toes in the mouth of another man. In 1996, her former astrologist Madame Vasso wrote a tell-all book about her. And in 2010, she was caught on film offering to take cash from a tabloid reporter posing as a business man in exchange for access to her ex-husband.

Following those incidents, Will and Kate left her off their guest list, which was interpreted as a sign that the royals weren't ready to let her back into the fold. But her appearance today could mean things have changed.

"Harry knows all too well what it feels like to be branded as the black sheep of the Royal Family," royal biographer Christopher Andersen told The Daily Beast. "Prince Philip, who has always detested the Duchess of York, may never be in a forgiving mood. But Harry is far more compassionate than previous generations of royals, and he obviously believes Fergie deserves another chance."

Fergie will be back in the royal spotlight later this year when her daughter Eugenie weds Jack Brooksbank.
